ROCKPILOT RIGGING

PARAGLIDER SERVICE & REPAIR
At RockPilot Rigging, we take your wing more seriously than you took your last weather check. We specialize in meticulous inspections, trim tuning, porosity testing, and repairs that actually hold — no duct tape, no wishful thinking.
Whether it’s a seams split, lines off, mystery stains from “that one time in Pemberton”, or a wing that’s seen more tree landings than thermals — we’ll fix it right. You handle the flying. We’ll handle the damage control. From sketchy speedbar wear to mid-life canopy crises, we’ve seen it all. No judgment — just solid repairs and proper tuning.

what we can do for you:

Glider service

Full annual inspection — because “it still flies fine” isn’t a maintenance planTrim tuning with laser accuracy (not eyeballs and vibes)Line set installs, symmetry corrections, and other nerdy adjustments that make a big difference in flightbasically, a spa day for your wing (but with fewer cucumbers and more calipers). We’ll spot the stuff you didn’t even know was sketchy.

When it all goes sideways, your reserve shouldn’t

reserve repack

Round, square, Rogallo, steerable or half-melted mystery burrito — we pack ’em allDeployment checks, damage inspection, and reinstallation without the guessworkBecause when it comes to throwing laundry at the sky, you want it to actually open

For wings that work as hard as you pretend to.

Precision Repairs. Trusted by Pilots. Tuned for Flight.

At RockPilot Rigging, we obsess over the nerdy stuff: porosity testing, trim tuning, line replacement, and structural repairs that’ll make your wing feel like it just got back from a wellness retreat.Whether you’re dragging tandems through cow fields, spiralling speedwings down sketchy ridges, or cross-countrying into “just one more thermal” territory — we’ll make sure your gear isn’t the weakest link in the adventure.

Custom lines for when life (or landing) gets tangled.

line replacement

Snapped a line? Fried a brake? Dog ate your stabilo? We can build you a replacement that matches the original spec — no sketchy knots or fishing line involved. We measure, splice, and stitch like it matters. Because it does.

We fix the stuff you swear wasn’t your fault.

Repair & Modification

Ripped cells, shredded trailing edge, mystery holes, or a harness that just isn’t working for your setup? Let’s talk. We handle everything from clean patches to full panel swaps and harness tweaks that’ll actually make it fit like it should.

We fix wings. We don’t perform miracles. But it’ll fly :)

Why RockPilot?

• Proudly based in Cochrane, Alberta — gateway to the Rockies and home of wildly judgmental thermals• Certified instructors and technicians who actually fly, not just talk about it in forums• Real-world tandem experience (yes, we've seen it all)• Honest gear assessments — if it’s toast, we’ll tell you. No sugar-coating, no BS, no surprise invoices for “vibe checks”. Just honest rigging from people who know what lines are supposed to look like

Your gear deserves better than duct tape and denial

Frequently Asked Questions

• What is your current wait time?
Usually about 2 weeks from when your gear arrives at the shop.
If we need to order specialty lines, rare fabric, or wait for something that involves a customs delay and a goat sacrifice, it could take longer — but we’ll keep you posted either way.
• How should I ship my stuff to you?
Drop it off at our Cochrane workshop, or ship it in.
We’ll confirm when it’s arrived, and your wing will be in the queue. Pro tip: don’t ship it wrapped in garbage bags.
• How can I contact you?
Send an email to rockpilotwings(at)gmail.com
Carrier pigeons not accepted at this time.
• How do I pay?
Once the work’s done, we’ll email your service report and invoice.
You can pay via e-transfer, or cash if you’re picking up in person.
We do not accept payment in granola bars or beer — yet.
• How do I book a service?
Just email us with:
- Your contact info
- Drop-off or shipping date
- What you need done
- Background on the gear (age, usage, damage, near-death experiences)
• What’s involved in a glider service?
Full laser line measurement with manufacturer-spec checks, Porosity and tear resistance testing, Canopy and riser inspection. We work with all brands. If it flies, we can service it.
• What happens if you find unexpected damage?
We’ll reach out with a clear breakdown and options before touching anything beyond the original plan. No surprise invoices. No hidden charges. No “mystery shop hours.”
• How often should I service my glider?
Every 24 months, 150 flights, or 100 hours — whichever hits first.
FYI: Most lines do their dramatic shrinking act in the first 75 hours. Your glide ratio notices.
• How often should I repack my reserve?
At least once a year under normal use.
If you’re a flying junkie logging over 100 hours/year, consider twice a year.
• Do you offer rush service?
Yes, for pilots in a bind or those who forgot a comp is coming.
Rush = double the cost, 1-week turnaround from arrival.
Email us first — don’t just slap a “RUSH” post-it on the box and pray.

Good rigging isn’t cheap. Cheap rigging isn’t good

How much does This All Cost?

- Laser trim check

Porosity and tear resistance testing, plus a full visual inspection on the light table to check for hidden damage after a hard landing, reserve toss, or unexpected tree hug.
Great for peace of mind, post-incident assessment, or proving to yourself that “it’s probably fine” isn’t a maintenance plan.
Reserve Inspection & Repack
$75 for round, square, triangle
$90 for steerable Rogallo
We treat your last line of defense like it matters — because it does.
Line Work
Replacement line: $35 per line
